Bank lines. Especially long ones with 12 people before you is one of the many waits some would patiently take. I however see it as a boredom trigger. Was observing around when I noticed the guy in front of me was wearing this nice shirt. Now it wasn’t the message written on the back that caught my eye, but the font used for the word.
Now before all this, everyone was really quiet, simply listening to the bank teller’s chats. One was even raising her voice for a bad transaction. So thank god all that was broken with just one word. BUSYBEE.
I quietly blurted the word that was on the guy’s back. He turned. He was thin with his baseball cap on at a thirty degree angle. He smiled and has now taken interest. I apologized, mentioning that I was into design and I liked the font usage for what he was wearing. He mentioned it was a crew shirt but was for sale at a milk tea shop 2 blocks from here.
The guy was rather passionate about his work, not talking about anything else but the milk teas he had made, the fresh new business, and the colorful variations of the shirts. With all the flavors he was mentioning it was not hard to ask and want to visit their shop. Hmm…wintermelon. Two days after, their new branch opened at Farmers, Cubao. Sip Milk Tea has now two locations conveniently near my usual commute routes!
From the far corner of the clean white walled shop was the owner’s wall mural of a bee with the big word SIP painted in blue. The business owner, from what I have heard is a young atenean, also into design and drawings. I was pretty psyched and wanted to arrange a meet-up, but maybe for another day.
I ordered myself a milk tea, and a caramel flavored one for my best bud. Both were really REALLY good! The tang I’ve been looking for rested on my taste buds as I take every sip with much content!
Sip cup totally empty from commuting to the office! You can imagine how thirsty we were!
So for all ya Milk Tea lovers out there who wants a treat of a different type of beverage, visit SIP Milk Tea branches down at Cubao Farmers, Rob Gale, Pearl Plaza, Malate – Dr. Quintos street and SM Sucat!
