SIPpin’ through my day with SIP Milk Tea!

Bank lines. Especially long ones with 12 people before you is one of the many waits some would patiently take. I however see it as a boredom trigger. Was observing around when I noticed the guy in front of me was wearing this nice shirt. Now it wasn’t the message written on the back that caught my eye, but the font used for the word.

Now before all this, everyone was really quiet, simply listening to the bank teller’s chats. One was even raising her voice for a bad transaction. So thank god all that was broken with just one word. BUSYBEE.

I quietly blurted the word that was on the guy’s back. He turned. He was thin with his baseball cap on at a thirty degree angle. He smiled and has now taken interest. I apologized, mentioning that I was into design and I liked the font usage for what he was wearing. He mentioned it was a crew shirt but was for sale at a milk tea shop 2 blocks from here.

Image

The guy was rather passionate about his work, not talking about anything else but the milk teas he had made, the fresh new business, and the colorful variations of the shirts. With all the flavors he was mentioning it was not hard to ask and want to visit their shop. Hmm…wintermelon. Two days after, their new branch opened at Farmers, Cubao. Sip Milk Tea has now two locations conveniently near my usual commute routes!

Image

From the far corner of the clean white walled shop was the owner’s wall mural of a bee with the big word SIP painted in blue. The business owner, from what I have heard is a young atenean, also into design and drawings. I was pretty psyched and wanted to arrange a meet-up, but maybe for another day.

Image

I ordered myself a milk tea, and a caramel flavored one for my best bud. Both were really REALLY good! The tang I’ve been looking for rested on my taste buds as I take every sip with much content!

Image

Sip cup totally empty from commuting to the office! You can imagine how thirsty we were!

So for all ya Milk Tea lovers out there who wants a treat of a different type of beverage, visit SIP Milk Tea branches down at Cubao Farmers, Rob Gale, Pearl Plaza, Malate – Dr. Quintos street and SM Sucat!

Twas one Sunday where Kbon and I went to a pre-shoot for a couple of models they’ll be getting for their company. First up was at UP with law student and all around Mr. nice smile, Chad Osorio.

ImageWith his background on shooting fashion and modeling, he had a lot of ideas and poses that were easy to go with. The environment however didn’t seem to comply as we stepped around the muddy plains of the sunken garden. Indeed there were a lot of areas to cover but I only chose a few since Chad was so easy to work with.

ImageHe even brought his own set of props to use. We were pretty on a minimal so his red bow-tie pretty much did the trick!

ImageHis shoes! Ho boy ho boy, he designed this one himself! Who says lawyer’s are covered under piles of books when Chad right here has taste for everything else hip!

ImageLunch came and we parted ways. Kbon and I had lunch at Rodic’s. It was my first time and had the right instincts to chose their infamous Tapsilog. I didn’t even know it was the common students meal! I just saw all the Tapa cooking in this HUGE pan and decided that it was the fastest order on the menu. We then got pandan ice creams for dessert and headed on to our next location.

ImageAyala, despite the looming buildings of glass and cement, right at the heart of it was the park of wonderful feasts and greens! We waited under the trees as we watched dog walkers run with their canines in diapers, children having fun by the grass, people simply enjoying with friends and family. Me and Kbon chatted a lot some and talked about film cameras when Corrine came.

Image

She was very tall with an asian beauty most girls would love to have. She was also all smiles and was fun to work with as well. We rounded the park’s pathways and cautiously avoided the policemen’s hovering eyes. Shooting was okay, but with hardcore lights, that would me a different story. Thank God it was only 2pm when we started so the sun was pretty much blessing us with its rays!

Image

ImageWe had yet again, ice creams at Caramia. Seems like Kbon has a sweet tooth for cold treats. It was also my first time there, so I chose the weirdest looking ice cream color and chose to melt some Red Velvet goodness in my mouth. Yum!

ImageThe day was pretty awesome. New friends and new shots to edit! Till my next street snaps!

My sister bagged this canvas-finish Vans wallet for a friend. Really love the textures! Reminds me of the shoes I was wearing the same day…though sadly, it was of a different brand. Haha! Will get my own pair come December. Oh Yeah!

ImageNotice the bokeh in this pic. Didn’t expect those little circles to pop from the mall floor. nice!

Image

ImageWith 8 pockets for your many cards and a spacey paper cash fold, you’d be rockin’ the lifestyle you wanted. And knowing Vans, Its mostly on young, cool and skates!

Image

ImageCheck out their micro site, they’ve got nifty colorful footwear you’d just love to pair up with your threads!

Not putting it in a perceptive of actually chewing leather, but if you think it’s somewhat similar to cold bacon in the morning, we can consider. Haha! The description actually says a lot more of the colors of this new piece of mine.

Image

Given by one named, Mrs.Ibong Ora, this came from Bora and was handed to me one faithful day at Tea Republic coffee shop. Described like an old fairytale, similar with the peasant getting a magical item from the Gods, seeing it that way…why not?

Ms.Ibong has her own success stories to tell and having this from her bares a reminder than I too can reach similar goals…or bigger!

Shot by my sister during a first time visit at Robinsons Magnolia. They have this huge outdoor food area where it was just nice to hang out and feel the hot breeze (cause it was pretty chilly inside). Nice view of the small park below. Kids where up and about laughing and playing. Adults on their picnic mats looking on as they chat about life.

Could have a similar thing in the future. And I’d look down on my wrist and remember where it all started 🙂

There really is something about these leather wrist charms I like. But mainly its all just about the texture and their colors. The idea of their raw forms heated and cut into these shapes are one of the little wonders I consider in my book. A soon as I see more of these, the purchase would be limitless!

Image

No idea where he got this but it was given by a friend who is also enthusiastic when it comes to film and digital cameras. Why? Well he actually works at Fuji Films! Big thanks for this awesome leather / metal selection! The details are stunning! Haven’t seen this piece anywhere else.

Image

Purchased on sale at Oxygen, really can’t resist these tribal bands of brown and blue! There were bought off only at 100php each! Who knows these pieces might still be on the shelves! Like mine was already on the counter.

Image

Literally electrifying, and one that reminds us all of Lady Gaga, this symbol has been on her costumes (not to mention on her face) in more pictures than anyone to date! As a gaga fan, this was bought at Oxygen with no second thoughts! Purchased right off the bat for a similar price of 100php! Sale galore to those who want to accessories!

So to those who wanna get into these raw works of (human fashion) wonders, I suggest you head on over to your local mall, local side street vendor and get your parts some minimal “bling”. Just right for the eyes would be nice!

Mochiko: Soft ice-cream ball treat!

Image

Image

Looking down at my best friend’s Mochiko Pandan ball, my mouth started to water. That Japanese rice cake, pounded and molded into a circle, right inside is my desired flavor of sorts!

The first time I’ve tasted this was back at Mercato, High Street, two train rides, a bus ride and a kilometer long walk from where I live. But if I ever come across that craving for a soft ice-cream center, I’d just stop by at Megamall at the 2nd Floor Bridgeway near Orchard Road.

Mochiko really is all around now! They’ve also opened a branch at Shangri-la Plaza Mall. And now I think they’re opening a third branch somewhere…that however would be a surprise. Keep posted! www.facebook.com/mochikomochi
